Posy Privacy Policy

This is a starting draft for a small, growing personal project. It is not a substitute for review by a licensed attorney, and should be reviewed by one before Posy is opened up more broadly or if it ever involves payments.

What this document is

Posy is a personal project built by Jordan Thompson to help friends coordinate plans without the awkwardness of group texts. This policy explains what information Posy collects, how it's used, and who can see it.

Information we collect

• Phone number — used to verify your identity when you sign up and log in.
• Name and any profile info you provide — so your friends can recognize you. This may include household or family members you choose to add, and a short note about things you like to do.
• Friend groups and connections — who you've added as a friend, and what groups you've organized them into.
• Invites and responses — plans you create, invites you send or receive, and whether you accepted, declined, or proposed an alternate time.
• Availability information — any dates or times you've marked yourself unavailable, if you choose to use that feature.
• Messages — messages you send in an invite's chat are stored so the people in that chat can read them.
• Notification settings — if you turn on notifications, we store what's needed to send them to your device.

We do not collect precise real-time location data, payment information, or any data beyond what's needed for the app to function.

Who can see your information

• Your phone number and profile are never visible to anyone outside people you've specifically connected with as friends, or people you share an invite with.
• Anything you add about your household or family is visible only to those same people. It is entirely optional — you never have to add it.
• Invite details (what, when, where) are only ever visible to the specific people you've chosen to send that invite to.
• Availability information you set is private to you — it is never shown to anyone as a status, and no one can look it up. It simply determines who is offered as an invite option for a given date and time.
• Messages in an invite's chat are visible only to the people in that chat.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for advertising or any other purpose.

How your information is stored

Posy stores your information using Supabase, a third-party hosting provider, which stores data on our behalf. Access rules are enforced at the database level, so the restrictions described above are applied by the database itself rather than only by the app.

Data retention and deletion

You can request that your account and associated data be deleted at any time by contacting jordan@thompson.ai. We will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retaining limited records is necessary for the basic functioning of invites you're still part of.

Children's privacy

Posy is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Note that if you choose to add household or family members to your profile, that information is yours to enter and share — those people are not Posy users and do not have accounts.

Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including restricting access to your data at the database level so that only the people you've chosen can see it. However, no system can guarantee perfect security, and Posy is provided without warranty of any kind (see Terms of Service).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll notify users through the app before the changes take effect.
